Ask Peachkyss: How Did You Get Started Blogging?

Reading Time: 2 minutes

I decided to start the “Ask Peachkyss” segment because I get asked questions all the time about blogging. One question that I get asked at least 3-5 times a day is, “How did you get started blogging?”

I got started with blogging back in 2010 just playing around with different names and trying to figure what fits me as a brand. I went from a fashion blog to a gossip blog, then decided that’s not the path for me at that time.

Three years later, I was on Twitter as usual and saw a post from Baller Alert stating that they are adding fashion to their site and wanted to add a fashion writer. I literally sent out an email stating, “I am interested in being a fashion blogger. I do have some experience in writing and blogging experience. I have a blog as well and was wondering if that mattered or not? My blog doesn’t just focus on fashion but I do quite a few articles on fashion trends and some of the celebs in the latest fashion.”

When I sent the email, I did not know what to expect. I honestly didn’t even know what to say in the email but I went with my gut and sent the email. I was okay if they did not respond but when they did, I was ecstatic.

For the last 5 years, I have learned a lot about writing. I have been writing about just fashion up until 2017 when I started incorporating relationship articles.

I did not start my own lifestyle blog until this year (2018) after procrastinating for the last two years. As I get older, I have to realize that time waits for no one. When you want something, go for it. The longer you wait, your dream will end up becoming someone else’s dream.

I look at blogging like a journal or a diary. I am able to jot down my thoughts but for the world to read. Learn to step outside of your comfort zone and take the world by storm. You won’t regret it all.

Love Always,

I am "Fashionably Obsessed" with everything fashion related from the hottest trends to the latest releases of your favorite designers. "Style is a way to say who are you are without having to speak."
